  • Andrew Tate asked his associates to help him gain political support for his release, according to Reuters.

  • The influencer also had an associate upload videos of an accuser partying to discredit her.

  • On Monday, a Romanian judge ruled that Tate would remain in prison until March as part of a trafficking investigation.

Influencer Andrew Tate attempted to expand his political influence in Romania through prison phone lines while seeking to discredit his accusers, Reuters reported Tuesday.

According to wiretap transcripts obtained by Reuters, Tate arranged calls with several right-wing Romanian politicians and had his associate release videos of his accusers partying.

The calls highlight a series of relentless efforts by the popular misogynistic influencer as Romanian authorities have ruled that he and his brother will remain in prison until March while an investigation into human trafficking charges on the two men and two others continued.

On January 28, while in detention, Tate called two of his colleagues, asking them to contact Romanian politicians George Simion and Diana Iovanovici-Sosoaca, to tell them it would be “very good for their careers”, to support him and claims that he was framed.

“So make it clear to them: You will get a lot of votes when Tate says you took their side,” Tate told his associates on the call, according to Reuters. Contacted by Reuters, the two politicians denied having been contacted by Tate.

According to the report, Tate also made calls asking his associate he called Luke to download “party clips” of one of the alleged trafficking victims, purporting to show her dancing in Bucharest.

“Yeah, put them up everywhere and say, 'This girl says she was kidnapped when she wasn't,'” Tate told Luke, according to Reuters.

“You’re saying you want me to discredit them, pull social media hard, right?” » asks his colleague Luke, according to Reuters. “Yeah, fuck them,” Tate responds.

Tate's lawyer did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment.

Tate, his brother Tristan and two Romanian women were arrested in December on charges related to a Romanian investigation into human trafficking and the rape of the four men. They are accused of exploiting the country's women to produce pornography and also face another charge of rape.

Since his imprisonment, Tate sent a cease and desist letter to an accuser, threatening to sue her for $300 million, and claimed to have updated his will to create a $100 million charity. dollars for men falsely accused of crimes.

He also reignited a long-running dispute with influencer Logan Paul, who he claims is an “agent” of “The Matrix.”

Andrew Tate monetized his opinions through his paid video subscription program “Hustler University,” where he amassed millions of dollars and a legion of largely male followers, according to Buzzfeed News.

In a message apparently sent from prison and shared with his followers on January 24, Tate claimed that authorities were “trying to break me.”

“Roaches, lice and bedbugs are my only friends at night,” Tate said in the post.
