ANDERSON, Ind. — Indiana State Police are investigating a shooting Saturday evening in Anderson that sent one victim to an Indianapolis hospital in critical condition and led to an arrest.

According to a police report, ISP detectives and crime scene investigators in the Pendleton District were asked by the Anderson Police Department to respond to a report of a shooting. They were called around 7:31 p.m. to a residential address on Delmar Street.

When officers arrived on scene, they located a 44-year-old man in critical condition, suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. Police said he was transported to an area hospital a short time later.

Although the investigation is still ongoing, ISP detectives have determined that there was an altercation at the residence that led to the shooting. They arrested a suspect who is currently facing two misdemeanor charges.
