Investigators also recovered chemicals used to flavor marijuana.

“In the illegal market, when they mix chemicals into the flower product, people are no longer smoking cannabis, they are smoking the chemicals that are mixed into it,” Miranda said.

He said it was “clearly mislabeling,” and the sheriff's office was tipped off to the location through complaints from neighbors.

“All we’re looking for in our inspections, and the reason we’re here to do this, is that this store is identified as such, this location needs to be closed,” he said. “We hear your complaints, we respond to them. And please make sure you keep us informed.”

The seized products were kept as evidence. The store will be fined and at least two of the employees will be prosecuted for counterfeiting.
