Amusement park works with police after teen's death

A seaside theme park says it is working with Kent Police as it investigates the circumstances surrounding the death of a teenage girl.

A Dreamland spokesperson said: “We are deeply saddened to learn of the death of a 17-year-old boy in hospital on Saturday.”

Officers were contacted shortly before 6pm BST on Saturday and “made aware of the death” at Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Hospital in Margate, Kent Police said.

A spokesman for the South East Coast Ambulance Service said the girl was taken to hospital “by the medical team from where she was travelling”.

Dreamland said: “Our thoughts and prayers are with the young woman's family and friends and we will continue to work closely with Kent Police, where appropriate, as they investigate this tragedy further.”

Kent Police said investigations were underway to establish the circumstances surrounding the death.

The force has been contacted for further details.

On Saturday, an event called Worried About Henry took place at the theme park.

Event organizers said Sunday they had been informed of the death.
