American teenager kills his parents and shoots police officers, shooting video released by police

US authorities have released body camera video of a shooting involving a teenager who killed his parents. The incident took place in Tampa, Florida, when officers from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office arrived at the 19-year-old's home, according to New York Post. The sheriff's office identified the teen as Christos Alexander Themelis Junior and said he shot his father Christos Byron Themelis, 51, inside the home, then his mother Rebecca Ann Themelis, 48. ​​years old, on the lawn in front of police officers.

After a shooting, the teenager was shot dead shortly after 11 p.m. on Saturday, the media added, citing law enforcement.

Officers arrived at the home after receiving a “frantic” call to the 911 emergency number from Rebecca Ann Themelis. She told the operator that her son had shot her husband.

When the police arrived at the house, they asked the woman to walk towards them. But the teenager mercilessly punched the back of her head while she was on the lawn. He then opened fire on the police.

In footage posted to Facebook, a police officer can be heard shouting at the teenager: “Stop looking for your belt. »

In exchanges of gunfire, deputy Shane McGough, 26, was shot in the leg, authorities were quoted as saying by the Post.

Mr McGough was rushed to a local hospital after receiving life-saving measures.

Christos was also seriously injured after being shot during an exchange of gunfire. He went into the house and barricaded himself.

When the sheriff's SWAT team entered the house, officers found Christos and his father dead. The teenager is believed to have died from his injuries during the shooting.
