“American Ninja Warrior” winner Drew Drechsel has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for federal crimes related to child sex.

The season 11 winner, born Andrew Drechsel, was first arrested in 2020, just weeks after the competition series wrapped its 12th season. NBC cut ties with Drechsel, 35, at the time and cut his appearance from the season entirely.

The 'Last Man Standing' Season 8 winner has been accused of “seeking to have sex with a minor and inciting her to send him explicit sexual images.”

The Florida resident was charged in a New Jersey court with making child pornography, enticing a minor to travel for illicit sexual relations, traveling with the intent to engage in illicit sexual relations with a minor and using the interstate commerce to attract a minor. A criminal complaint says Drechsel met the victim, a teenager from New Jersey, “after an event attended by many of (the) 'American Ninja Warrior' competitors.”

In a news release Wednesday, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of New Jersey said Drechsel pleaded guilty to receiving child pornography and using interstate commerce to entice a minor in June 2023. In 2019, law enforcement searched a then-30-year-old Drechsel and “found child sexual abuse images, including photos and videos of the victim when she was 14 and 15 years old,” the office said.

“Drechsel admitted to texting the victim and discussing his plans to have sex with her,” the statement continued. “At Drechsel’s request, the victim crossed state lines in July 2015 so that Drechsel could have sex with her. »

USA TODAY has reached out to Drechsel's attorney for comment.

In addition to his 10-year sentence, Drechsel was sentenced to 15 years of supervised release and ordered to pay $100,000 in restitution to the victim.
