Alleged Accenture IT data posted on breach forums

A well-known threat actor has claimed responsibility for an attack on major IT consulting firm Accenture that allegedly stole employee data.

Infamous Breach Forums user and leaker 888 took to the forum, claiming to have stolen the data of over 32,000 current and former employees of the company.

“In June 2024, Accenture suffered a third-party data breach that exposed 32,826 employees/former employees,” 888 wrote.

The data would include full names, email addresses and “broadcast dates.”

As is often common practice on the Breach forums, 888 has posted a sample of the data, all of which has the same release date.

Cyber Daily reached out to Accenture for comment on the alleged incident, but those contacted were unable to comment at this time.

This is a developing story. Cyber Daily will provide updates as we learn more.

888 is a prolific leaker and well-known user of the Breach forums, having claimed responsibility for a number of high-profile cyberattacks in the past.

Most recently, 888 data records allegedly belong to 8,174 Heineken employees across a number of countries, with data including identification, full names, email addresses, company positions and much more.

Prior to this, 888 also claimed responsibility for an attack on multinational oil and gas major Shell, publishing a sample of the allegedly stolen data with the details of 10 people, all of whom are Australians shopping at Shell Coles Express stores.
