Algonquin shooting leaves woman hospitalized

A woman was shot multiple times in the Algonquin neighborhood early Saturday morning, according to Louisville Metropolitan Police. Around 5 a.m., LMPD Second Division officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 1600 block of South 11th Street. MetroSafe escalated the call into a shooting. When they arrived on scene, officers found a woman they said was in her 40s suffering from gunshot wounds to her back and shoulders. She was taken by EMS to UofL Hospital where police say she is expected to survive her injuries. The LMPD Non-Fatal Shooting Team is investigating. Around 5 a.m., LMPD Second Division officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 1600 block of South 11th Street.

While they were en route, MetroSafe escalated the call to a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found a woman in her 40s who they said had gunshot wounds to her back and shoulders.

She was taken by EMS to UofL Hospital, where police say she is expected to survive her injuries.

The LMPD Non-Fatal Shooting Team is investigating. They have not said if there are any suspects at this time.
