Albany man charged in Clinton Street stabbing

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — An Albany man was arrested Thursday following a stabbing investigation, police said. Jonisaac Nazario, 19, was charged with first-degree assault.

On May 16, around 1 p.m., Albany police responded to the 100 block of Clinton Street after receiving a report of an assault. Arriving officers found a 31-year-old man with a stab wound to his back.


Emergency medical personnel treated the victim before he was transported to Albany Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. The ensuing investigation identified Nazario as the suspect.

On July 4, officers located Nazario in Washington Park and took him into custody. He was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court Friday morning before being remanded in custody at the Albany County Jail.
