Akron man convicted of meth conspiracy for second time

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — An Akron man will spend decades in prison after being convicted of meth conspiracy for the second time.

According to a news release, in December 2023, a jury found Britt Lander, 42, guilty of conspiracy to distribute more than 50 grams of pure methamphetamine. On May 30, he was sentenced to 30 years in prison.

The release said evidence presented at trial showed Lander was one of several who conspired to receive at least 88 pounds of methamphetamine by mail and vehicle from California and Mexico. The drugs were intended for distribution in the Sioux City and Akron areas.

The release adds that evidence further shows that Lander helped unload between 5 and 15 pounds of methamphetamine. Video footage shows he also helped use tools to cut out a spare tire and remove 7 kilograms transported from Mexico.

The release said Landrew was previously convicted of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine in 2012. For the most recent conviction, Lander will also have to serve 10 years of supervised release after completing his 30-year sentence.
