An Arkon man was arrested last week in Marietta on fentanyl-related charges.

Officers with the Southeast Ohio Major Crimes Task Force conducted a probable cause search May 30 on a black SUV parked in a residential lot in Pioneer Township, Marietta, after an officer canine sniffed the open air and pointed to the driver's side of the vehicle, according to a news release from the Washington County Sheriff's Office.

The release said officers found 45.85 grams of suspected fentanyl and placed Coty Terrell Frazier Jr., 21, Akron, under arrest.

Frazier was charged with a first-degree felony charge of trafficking fentanyl and a first-degree felony charge of possession of fentanyl, according to the release.

Frazier appeared in Marietta Municipal Court on May 31 and was being held on $150,000 bail and personal recognizance, the release said.

Washington County Jail records show Frazier was still being held there.
