Police were searching for the suspect who fled Potomac High School.

Police were searching for a suspect who fled the scene after opening fire Saturday morning during a Maryland high school football game, killing a man in the stands and injuring a child.

The incident took place outside Potomac High School in Oxon Hill around 11:20 a.m., Prince George's County police said. a statement published onformerly Twitter.

Officers found the unidentified adult male “suffering from gunshot wounds” and rushed him to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, according to PGCPD.

“A second victim, a child, was also found suffering from a gunshot wound. The child was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries,” PGCPD said in a statement.
