Adair County couple convicted of child sex crimes | News

ADAIR COUNTY, Okla. — An Adair County couple has been convicted of sex crimes they committed against a child, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced.

Robert Lee Catron, 36, was sentenced to 30 years in prison for one count of aggravated sexual abuse of a minor in Indian County on June 11, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District announced from Oklahoma.

Investigators said Catron sexually assaulted a child he knew was under the age of 12 between 2020 and 2022.

Jenny Marie Locust, 39, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for one count of enticement and coercion of a minor on June 4. Investigators said that between 2021 and 2022, she used her phone to entice and coerce a child under the age of 18 to have sex with her boyfriend, Catron.

The crimes took place in Adair County, within the boundaries of the Cherokee Nation reservation, the release said.

Catron and Locust will be required to register as sex offenders upon their release.

The announcement said the charges were the result of an investigation by the FBI and the Westville Police Department.

“I am extremely grateful for the collaborative effort that brought these defendants to justice for their heinous crimes,” said Acting Special Agent in Charge Jason Kaplan of the FBI’s Oklahoma City Field Office. “The harsh sentences handed down in this case should send a clear message to child predators that law enforcement will pursue them aggressively, even if the abuse comes to light years after it occurred.”

“Together, Catron and Locust committed horrific crimes, transgressing every rule of decency our society has established to protect children,” said United States Attorney Christopher J. Wilson. “There can be no tolerance for those who would inflict such harm on children, and this office will not relent in its pursuit of such perpetrators.”
