An actor who appeared in film and television projects like “Rebel Moon” and “How I Met Your Mother” has been arrested and accused of stabbing his ex-girlfriend multiple times.

Nick Pasqual, 34, was charged with one count of attempted murder; one count of first-degree residential burglary in the presence of a person; and one count of injuring a spouse, common-law partner, fiance, boyfriend, girlfriend or parent of a child, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.

He is accused of stabbing his ex-girlfriend on May 23 at her home in the Sunland neighborhood of Los Angeles.

CNN has reached out to a representative for Pasqual for comment. It is not yet known whether he is represented by an attorney in this case.

“My thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to the victim of this horrific incident,” prosecutor George Gascón said in a statement. “Our office, including our Office of Victim Services, is providing support and resources as she embarks on the long and difficult journey of healing from the physical and emotional trauma inflicted on her. This heinous incident is a stark reminder of the dangers of domestic violence. We will ensure that the person responsible for this egregious act is held accountable for their actions.

According to a press release from Gascón's office, Pasqual broke into the home of his ex-girlfriend, who had recently filed a restraining order against Pasqual.

Although the prosecutor's office has not identified the victim, she is a 35-year-old Hollywood makeup artist, according to CNN affiliate KABC. A GoFundMe account was created and verified by the platform to help cover his medical expenses.

“(She) is a remarkable person, full of warmth, kindness and love,” we can read on the website of a press release from the organizers. “No one deserves to go through such a traumatic experience.”

Pasqual reportedly fled the scene and was arrested at a checkpoint in Sierra Blanca, Texas, according to the press release. He will be extradited to Los Angeles County, where he faces a maximum sentence of life in prison if convicted.
