ACPD: a dispute leads to a knife attack in the Buckingham district

An Arlington man faces a felony charge after allegedly stabbing a man during an argument.

The incident happened around 11:20 p.m. Friday outside a residential building in the 4300 block of 4th Street N. in Buckingham.

The two men got into a verbal argument that turned physical, leading one of the men to pull out a knife and stab the other, Arlington County police said.

The 42-year-old suspect, who knew the victim, was arrested on Saturday. He was arraigned Monday, court records show, and faces a charge of aggravated intentional wounding.

AGGRAVATED MALICIOUS WOUND, 2024-06140246, 4300 block of 4th Street N. At approximately 11:22 p.m. on June 14, police were dispatched to a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, it was determined that the victim and suspect, who are known to each other, were outside of a residential building when they became involved in a verbal argument which escalated into a physical altercation during in which the suspect allegedly attacked the victim with a knife. before fleeing the scene on foot. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital. During the investigation, the suspect was identified and a warrant for his arrest was obtained. The next day, officers located the suspect at a residence in the 800 block of S. Oakland Street and took him into custody. A knife was recovered at the scene. [The suspect], 42, of Arlington, Virginia, was arrested and charged with aggravated malicious wounding. He was held without bail.
