Accused 'secret peeping tom' arrested in Monroe neighborhood may be linked to other incidents

MONROE, North Carolina (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — An accused secret observer has been arrested and police are warning that more similar incidents could occur in a Monroe neighborhood.

Monroe Police said that at 7:36 a.m. Friday, May 24, officers responded to an undercover sighting incident in the 400 block of S. Crawford Street.


A woman reported that while inside her home, she was surprised by a man looking out the window at the back of her home while exposing himself.

The man, later identified as Kendall Ra'shad Carpenter, 31, of Monroe, fled the home while the woman called 911. Officers were able to locate Carpenter shortly after the incident .

He was arrested and charged with trespassing, covert observation and indecent exposure.

Carpenter remains in custody at the Union County Sheriff's Office on $5,000 bail. After speaking with the woman, officers were made aware of other potential similar incidents in the area and are actively following up on the information.
