21 firefighters brought the fire under control at 6:24 a.m. No injuries to the firefighters or occupants were reported, but a dog and a call were found dead inside the house.

After investigating the scene and collecting evidence, investigators determined that the fire originated in the rear of the home and was intentionally set.

A juvenile occupant was referred to the Family in Need of Services (FINS) program through the Caddo Parish Juvenile Court. The dismissal was due to a court summons or arrest and will allow the juvenile and his or her family to access professional services and assistance while avoiding formal juvenile court involvement.
