A man on a scooter killed in the night

Melbourne police are investigating a shooting that left a man dead early Tuesday. Police said officers on patrol located a man at Ryoland Street and South Grant Street around 12:30 a.m. who appeared to have crashed a gas scooter. At the same time, 911 calls were received for shots fired in the area. Officers discovered the man, identified as Kyeon Rashad Roberson, 28, had been shot. Despite efforts to save him, Roberson was later pronounced dead. “I just wish people could stop the killings. Everything that's going on. It's just traumatic for people trying to live here,” said a woman who did not wish to be identified for reasons of security. “Just put them down. Put the guns down. Put them down,” the woman said. Police said they are currently searching for a suspect. Detectives and CSI investigate.
