Missing Canadian remembers his identity after 30 years

A mother from Ontario, Canada, got a huge surprise when her son, who had been missing for almost 30 years, was found alive.

The Canadian, named Edgar Latulip, reportedly forgot his identity after suffering a head injury. Decades later, he was found and would finally reunite with his mother, who was just 80 miles away, according to at least one report.

When he first disappeared, he had recently been treated after a suicide attempt. When he disappeared, police believed he may have committed suicide in Niagara Falls, according to local reports.

But now, after being found, police believe Latulip, who suffers from cognitive impairment, got on a bus after disappearing from his group home in 1986. They then believe he suffered a head injury .

“So he forgot who he was,” police said.

But last month, he began to remember parts of his identity. A few internet searches and a DNA test later, and Latulip's identity was confirmed.

Her mother said she was devastated that Latulip was alive. She plans to find her son.
