A man in his 20s is stabbed to death in the city center as police launch a manhunt for his killer.



A man in his 20s was stabbed to death in a city center on Saturday evening, as police launched a manhunt for the killer.

Police were called to Queens Road in Nuneaton, Warwickshire, around 9.30pm on June 8 to reports of a stabbing.

The victim was rushed to hospital but sadly later died from his injuries, Warwickshire Police said.

His relatives have been informed and an autopsy will be carried out in the coming days to establish the cause of death.

Much of Nuneaton town center was cordoned off after the stabbing while officers carried out their investigation.

Lead investigating officer, Chief Inspector Katie Reynolds, said: “Following this tragic incident, a murder investigation is now underway and our thoughts remain with the man's family at this difficult time, who are being supported by specially trained agents.”

She said no arrests had yet been made but a manhunt had been launched for the killer.

Ms Reynolds urged anyone who was in the Queens Road area between 9pm and 9.30pm at the time of the stabbing to come forward.

She continued: “We are aware of the concern this will cause in the local community and would like to reassure the public that, although no arrests have been made, investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding this incident, and our officers are working hard to identify who.” is responsible.

“There will continue to be an increased police presence in the area as our officers carry out their investigations and a significant police cordon remains in place in and around Queens Road which is likely to cause disruption. So I would like to thank the local people and businesses for their cooperation and patience.
