A Dunkirk resident arrested for the second time this year for drug trafficking

(WJET/WFXP) – Narcotics investigators executed a search warrant at the same apartment for the second time in six months.

Investigators with the Dunkirk Police Department, Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office and Jamestown Police Department obtained a search warrant for the apartment of Fernando Martinez Jr., 43 of Dunkirk, in the 2000 block 100 of West 2nd Street.


Martinez attempted to leave the residence before officers entered the apartment and he was quickly arrested by Dunkirk police.

During the search, officers found 7.5 oz. of methamphetamine, 3.2 oz. of crack cocaine, 28.7 grams of cocaine, 32.2 grams of fentanyl, $396 in cash, as well as scales and packaging materials for drug trafficking.

He is charged with two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of drug paraphernalia.

Martinez was transported to the Dunkirk police station to be indicted, this is the second time he has been arrested for drug-related offenses in 2024, the first dating back to January 14.
