A child drowns in a swimming pool near his apartment | York County, South Carolina

Rose Blankenship was found dead on Saturday.

CLOVER, S.C. — A child died in a swimming pool after going missing, the York County coroner said Tuesday.

Rose Blankenship, 4, disappeared from her Clover apartment on Saturday. She was later found dead in a nearby swimming pool.

No further information has been released. Officials did not say how far the pool in which Blankenship drowned was from her apartment. Authorities have not said how long Blakenship was missing before she was found.

The York County Coroner's Office said an autopsy will be conducted. The York County Sheriff's Office, South Carolina Law Enforcement Division and the Coroner's Office will further investigate this incident.
