A car hits two bikes, two bikers are killed

BENGALURU: Two cyclists were killed, while three others were seriously injured, after they were hit by a car, while its driver was trying to flee after hitting a pedestrian. The incident took place on Hoskote-Chintamani road within Hoskote Traffic Police limits early on Thursday.

It is suspected that the driver of the car, identified as Pragathish Rao, was driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. He first hit a pedestrian while heading towards Hoskote from Chintamani.

After being chased by the public, Rao, in his attempt to escape, rammed into two bikes on which the deceased, identified as Jagadish (30) and Mohammed Faiz (18), were riding.

After the car stopped, the public threw stones at it, damaging the windshield. Relatives and friends of the deceased demonstrated near the public hospital where the autopsy took place.
