A barbecue causes a fire in a large shed behind the house

Jackson firefighters battled a massive shed fire early Tuesday morning. The shed was located behind a house on Berryhill Place in north Jackson. Before 16 WAPT crews arrived on scene, they saw heavy smoke coming from the fire as they traveled down I-220. Firefighters on the scene said they received the call around 5:45 a.m. and when they arrived, the response was complete. The owner said it was once a two-story shed. He told firefighters he was having a barbecue Monday and left the grill near the shed, which they believe started the fire. Five firefighters were on scene to put out the flames. The fire caused no injuries.

Firefighters at the scene said they received the call around 5:45 a.m. and when they arrived they were fully involved.

The owner said it was once a two-story shed. He told firefighters he was having a barbecue Monday and left the grill near the shed, which they believe started the fire.

Five firefighters were on site to put out the flames.

There were no injuries following the fire.
