A 52-year-old man killed in Montebello identified

A 52-year-old man who was killed in Montebello last week, leading to a homicide investigation, was identified Tuesday by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.

Montebello Police officers went to the 2900 block of Via San Delarro around 3:47 p.m. Thursday for a welfare check. When they arrived, they found the victim suffering from apparent blunt force trauma to the upper torso, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide Lt. Michael Gomez said.

The medical examiner identified the victim as Napoléon Rodriguez Zamora, who was pronounced dead on scene.

LASD homicide detectives were assisting Montebello police with the investigation.
