A 14-year-old in police custody, according to his family

A 14-year-old boy was taken into custody in connection with a fatal shooting at the Houston Farmers Market, the family of the slain man confirmed Friday.

A family member of Damon Price, 36, said they were informed by police that the teenager was in custody.

The shooting happened early Thursday morning at the Houston Farmers Market on Airline Drive.

Police say the two suspects broke into a business and attempted to steal a golf cart parked near the exit.

Police say an employee, whose family name is Price, confronted them.

Police say one of the suspects ended up shooting the man multiple times and then fled the scene. Price did not survive his injuries.

Suspects shot dead at Houston farmers market

Police described the suspects as two very young Hispanic men wearing dark-colored hoodies. They shared surveillance photos of the suspects they were looking for.
