£81m double signing accelerates with winger approach and lethal striker identified

Arsenal are hoping to bolster their attacking ranks with a double coup worth £81million, although the bigger of the two deals is under threat from Chelsea.

Arsenal came close to winning the Premier League title again last season, but ultimately fell short against conquering Manchester City.

The Gunners are determined to do better next season and significant funding will be made available to Mikel Arteta and sporting director Edu.

Among the positions Arsenal are hoping to strengthen are center forward and right wing. Bukayo Saka will clearly remain first choice in the latter position, although a quality addition ensuring Saka can be rested and rotated without Arsenal suffering a significant drop in end product is sought.

To this end, Spanish point of sale AS bringing news of Arsenal making their move for Girona ace, Viktor Tsysgankov.

The 25-year-old is coming off a superb campaign for the Spanish side who qualified for the Champions League for the first time in their history.

Girona remarkably finished third in La Liga with a total of 81 points. Left-handed Tsygankov has shone on his right wing, scoring 15 goals in 30 La Liga appearances.

Tsygankov's release clause leaves Girona powerless

Tsygankov can be signed via a relatively modest release clause worth €30m/£25.5m. Girona aim to keep the Ukraine international “at all costs”, even if the clause will ultimately leave them powerless to resist.

Moreover, Tsygankov himself has already indicated that he is considering joining a bigger club.

“All players dream big, they want to play in big clubs, high-level leagues. I am not unique in this,” Tsygankov told AS.

“Since I was young I wanted to play at a high level and of course I like the fact that there are important clubs in Europe looking out for me. I don't really know what will happen. In football, anything can happen.

“Maybe I was able to play my last match, but I don’t know what will happen to my future.

“Girona has given me a lot and I am very grateful. Moreover, my family is very happy here and I feel very comfortable.

“If I'm still here in Girona, perfect, because I'm very happy and I love what I do. If in the end the future tells me that I have to leave, I want to do it through the front door. »

AS Arsenal and AC Milan have taken the first steps towards a transfer by launching procedures.

Adding fuel to the fire is the claim that Arteta is 'in love' with Tsygankov who he believes would be a great fit for his team.

Arsenal hold on to Benjamin Sesko, but Chelsea move first

Elsewhere, Arsenal also intend to sign a new striker and that of RB Leipzig. Benjamin Sesko emerges as their priority target.

The Slovenian, 21, finished the season on a high for Leipzig, scoring in each of his last seven Bundesliga outings to take his tally to 14.

Sesko is protected by an escalating release clause which is currently set at €65m/£55.5m. A figure of this magnitude is unlikely to deter the Gunners.

Indeed, a new update of the sun revealed that Arsenal are 'determined' to land Sesko and are fully prepared to sell Eddie Nketiah to free up space and money.

However, the biggest obstacle to a deal could still be Chelsea, who TEAMtalk understands are also determined to sign the frontman.

Our insider, Fraser Gillan, reported news of Chelsea in contact with Sesko representatives.

The Blues also believe Sesko is one of the hottest young strikers and momentum towards filing a Chelsea bid is building.

However, we understand that Arsenal still remain the favorites to sign the Leipzig hitman.

Sesko has been impressed by the project Arsenal are building and the Gunners are touting the obvious benefit of offering Champions League football.

Manchester United could also have a role to play, although at the moment Sesko's most likely destination if he leaves Leipzig appears to be the Emirates.
