7 people arrested in Massachusetts and Rhode Island after large fight at Block Island ferry dock – Fall River Reporter

NARRAGANSETT — Chief Sean Corrigan reports the Narragansett Police Department arrested 7 people following a large fight at the Block Island Ferry dock.

On Saturday, June 15, shortly before 8:15 p.m., Narragansett Police responded to the Block Island Ferry, 304 Great Island Road, after reports of 20 to 30 individuals actively fighting.

Officer Brandon Gagnon was the first to arrive on scene and immediately requested backup. When officers arrived, they saw a large group of individuals fighting.

As officers made arrests, many people began to intervene and were warned to step back or be arrested for obstruction.

As a result, seven individuals were arrested on site.. Two individuals were transported to area hospitals by ambulance to treat injuries sustained during the fighting.

The following people were arrested at the scene:

Manuel Pina, 42, of Brockton, was arrested and charged with assault, resisting arrest, obstructing the execution of his duties and disorderly conduct.

Gilda Antunes, 28, of Brockton, was arrested and charged with obstructing an officer.

Elsa Lopes, 31, of Brockton, was arrested and charged with simple assault, resisting arrest, obstructing an officer in the execution of their duty and disorderly conduct.

Henry Lopes Jr., 32, of Providence, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.

Victor Manuel Gomes Depina, 39, of Brockton, was arrested and charged with obstructing an officer and disorderly conduct.

Michael Gomes Lopes, 36, of Brockton, was arrested and charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

A 16-year-old juvenile was arrested and charged with simple assault and disorderly conduct.

All are is expected to be arraigned in the 4th Division District Court on Monday.

This is an ongoing investigation. No further information has been released.
