7 injured in fight, stabbed at Northwest Side mall overnight

INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD is investigating a mass stabbing on the city's northwest side Monday morning.

Police say officers were called just before 4 a.m. to the 7100 block of Woodland Avenue for a stabbing. Before the stabbing call, police were at the scene for a fight.

It's just inside Loop 465 on 71st Street.

There, officers located seven people with stab wounds and/or trauma related to the altercation.

Two of those seven people were considered to be in critical condition.

According to IMPD, at least one person was arrested. This same person was among those injured and taken to hospital.

It was unclear at the time whether the stabbings took place outside or inside one of the mall's businesses. However, all the people were in the parking lot.

IMPD says those at the scene provided aid to the injured until officers arrived.
