7 dogs rescued after being found on an embankment near the Lahontan reservoir

High Sierra Lifeline k9 Rescue and Your Local Pet Station rescued seven Belgian Malinois spotted on a 20-foot embankment near Lahontan Reservoir. There is still an eighth dog who is very scared, according to a press release.

The pack was spotted on June 2 and a photo and description of the dogs' poor condition were posted on a local Facebook group.

High Sierra Lifeline asks if you see the dog not to call or chase it – please drop a pin where you saw it and contact them at 530-448-2993 or via Facebook Messenger.

High Sierra Lifeline is asking for donations to help with the essential veterinary care these dogs need. All 7 are very underweight and most suffer from gastrointestinal problems. The dogs are treated with antibiotics and dewormed. One of the adult males nicknamed Tahoe has a damaged eye that will need to be removed as well as damage to the bone around the eye socket. Photos and updates are on the rescue's Facebook page.

High Sierra Lifeline works with the Churchill County Sheriff's Office. It was reported that the sheriff's office had not received any calls regarding the dogs' fate.

High Sierra Lifeline k9 Rescue is a Nevada 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that specializes primarily in Belgian Malinois, German Shepherds and Dutch Shepherds – dogs that are more difficult for most shelters and rescues.
