66-year-old man fends off attacker in Brevard County, sheriff says

BREVARD COUNTY, FL. — A would-be burglar in Brevard County who attacked a 66-year-old man after he tried to get into his truck was quickly found bloodied and on the ground, according to the sheriff's office.

Blake Robinson, 29, faces charges of battery on a person 65 or older and attempted burglary of an unoccupied conveyance, records show.

According to an affidavit, the victim told officers she went out to investigate a noise early Thursday when she saw Robinson pulling on the door handles of her pickup truck. The victim went back inside to call law enforcement, but reappeared and confronted Robinson when he couldn't find her phone, the affidavit states.

Robinson began punching the victim and threw him to the ground, where he continued to kick him in the head, investigators said. However, the victim was able to punch Robinson in self-defense and run away, according to the affidavit.

Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey posted about the incident on social media, referring to Robinson as “Mr. Tough Guy” and describing the victim's injuries as not serious.

Police arrived on the scene and were able to quickly arrest Robinson, who appeared to be struggling to get up after being kicked in the butt by a 66-year-old man! That's right, tough guy Mr. Robinson was manhandled by a 66-year-old man who fortunately only required short-term medical attention and suffered no serious injuries!
