6-year-old child who died after being pulled from Ross Barnett Reservoir identified

Authorities have identified the six-year-old who died after being pulled from the Ross Barnett Reservoir over the weekend.

Logan Love was discovered in the water at Lakeshore Park in Brandon Saturday afternoon. First responders responded, got him out and transported him to a local hospital. A few hours later, around 5:30 p.m., Love died while at Merit Health River Oaks.

Love's family members took to social media to ask for thoughts and prayers.

No further information regarding the incident has been released at this time. Officials continue to urge people to be safe in and around water this Memorial Day.
