53-year-old man killed in Elbridge crash identified, police say

Updated at 5:30 p.m.: A 53-year-old man who died Saturday evening after his SUV took off has been identified, said Officer Jennifer Jiron, a state police spokeswoman.

The man killed was Patrick J. Sheehan, of Cayuga, Jiron said. Sheehan was pronounced dead at the scene, she said.

Elbridge, N.Y. — A man died Saturday evening after his SUV became airborne and rolled over several times in the town of Elbridge, state troopers said.

The man was driving south on Crossett Road around 7:14 p.m. when he lost control of a 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander, Trooper Jennifer Jiron, a state police spokeswoman, said in a news release Sunday. press.

He left the left shoulder of the road, hitting a ditch that caused the SUV to become airborne, Jiron said. The SUV overturned and came to rest on its roof, she said.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The police continue to investigate.
