53-year-old man arrested following other OWI arrests the same night

JANESVILLE, Wis. (WMTV) – A 53-year-old man was arrested following other OWI arrests Friday evening, the Janesville Police Department reports.

According to the police department, the first incident occurred around 5:15 p.m. A Janesville police officer responded to the area of ​​Milton Avenue and Blackbridge Road following a report of a complaint relating to traffic.

A caller reportedly told dispatchers that a vehicle was all over the roadway. Police noticed the vehicle traveling along the 1200 block of N. Ringold Street and conducted a traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle reportedly showed signs of intoxication.

Police say after failing a sobriety test, the driver was arrested. The driver was charged with a first offense OWI.

Around 10:30 p.m., another Janesville police officer reported a vehicle going 15 mph below the speed limit on Milton Avenue near Mt. Zion Avenue. The vehicle was traveling southbound and reportedly veered out of the lane.

After the officer stopped the vehicle, a sobriety test was administered and the driver failed. It was reported that the driver had just left a local bar and was still under the influence.

A 53-year-old Janesville man was arrested and booked into the Rock County Jail. He was charged with two counts of first offense OWI.
