5 people indicted for federal sex trafficking crimes in Montgomery

Five people have been charged with federal sex trafficking in central Alabama.

The U.S. Department of Justice announced an eight-count indictment Tuesday against Kimani Jones, 30, Treymane Lambert, 48, Aleecia Scott, 27, Joseph Keon Bowe, 37, and Daryle Gardner, 30 years.

Jones, Lambert and Scott are from Montgomery. Bowe lives in Notasulga and Gardner is originally from Prattville.

According to the indictment, Jone, Lambert and Scott used force, fraud and coercion to coerce adult women into engaging in commercial sex acts between August 2016 and November 2020.

Jones also used force, fraud and coercion to coerce two minors into engaging in commercial sex acts during this period, and Bowe used force, fraud and coercion to coerce a minor into engaging in commercial sex acts between August 2018 and March 2019, DOJ officials said. .

The indictment also accuses Jones of transporting a minor and an adult female across state lines for prostitution in November 2016 and January 2020.

Gardner is accused of transporting an adult female for prostitution in January 2020.

The Department of Homeland Security, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the Montgomery Sheriff's Office, the Montgomery Police Department and the Montgomery Attorney General's Office investigated the case.
