LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Five people are dead and a 13-year-old girl is hospitalized following a late-night shooting at a North Las Vegas apartment complex.

The suspect, identified as “extremely dangerous,” committed suicide at another location Tuesday morning and no longer poses a threat to the community, police said in a news release.

North Las Vegas police officers responded to a report of a shooting at the resort shortly after 10 p.m. in the 300 block of Casa Norte Drive, near Craig Ranch Park and Commerce Street. Officers found two women, one in her 40s and one in her 50s, dead from apparent gunshot wounds in the second-floor apartment. A third shooting victim, a 13-year-old girl, was also found in the apartment and taken to the hospital. Police said she was in critical condition.

During the investigation, police discovered three additional gunshot victims in a separate apartment, just below the apartment where the three women were found. Police said two women in their 20s and a man in his 20s died from apparent gunshot wounds.

On Tuesday morning, police said Eric Adams, 57, was believed to be armed and “extremely dangerous” and that anyone who saw him should call 911 immediately and not approach Adams.

Metropolitan Police said they received information about Adams at a business in the 1500 block of Lake Mead Boulevard. When officers responded to the area, they found Adams armed with a firearm in the yard of a residence on Dwayne Stedman Avenue, near MLK Boulevard and Balzar Avenue.

The officers gave Adams a verbal command to drop his weapon, but he ignored the orders and shot himself, police said.

The Clark County Coroner's Office will release the names of those killed at the apartment complex.
