480 kilos of drugs seized

During the “Narkoçelik-19” operations organized by Istanbul Police against drug manufacturers and poison traffickers, 480 kg of drugs and 71,000 drug tablets were seized.

Operations targeting suspects involved in the production and sale of drugs continue unabated across Turkey's 81 provinces. Drug traffickers who seek to poison young people are confronted by security forces. Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that 8 suspects had been arrested as part of an anti-drug operation in Istanbul.

DRUG RAID IN 4 DISTRICTS OF ISTANBUL

As a result of operations carried out by the narcotics and intelligence branches of the Istanbul Provincial Police; teams were mobilized for operation “NARKOÇELİK-19” in Esenyurt, Beyoğlu, Şişli and Beykoz districts.

A TOTAL OF 480 KILOGRAMS OF DRUGS SEIZED

During the searches carried out at the identified addresses, 257 kg of Skunk, 220.5 kg of methamphetamine, 2.5 kg of hashish powder, 71,000 pieces of drug pills, materials used in the sale and manufacture of drugs, as well as only money, were seized.

MESSAGE OF DETERMINATION IN THE FIGHT AGAINST DRUGS

Minister Yerlikaya said 8 people were apprehended and taken into custody, and in his social media post he said: “I would like our dear nation to know that we are determined to rid our country of drug traffickers and street dealers. Drug traffickers will continue to increase throughout our country. I congratulate our heroic police officers who carried out these operations. May God protect you from evil.
