4-year-old boy identified in fatal Waukegan car crash

WAUKEGAN, Ill. — A four-year-old boy has been identified after a fatal car crash in Waukegan Wednesday morning.

The four-year-old boy was identified as Kaleb Hardge of Zion, according to the coroner's office.

Police responded to a crash near Sunset Avenue and Kellog Avenue around 8:12 a.m. and found two vehicles colliding head-on.

Several victims were transported to local hospitals with injuries.

The police investigation revealed that the driver of one of the vehicles crossed the center line for an unknown reason, causing the accident.

Hardge, who was in a booster seat, was transported to Vista Medical Center East with life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead in the emergency room.
