4 people wanted in stabbing attack at Manhattan cafe – NBC New York

New York police are searching for four men seen fleeing a Manhattan cafe where total chaos erupted after a group chased someone inside and stabbed him, authorities say.

Surveillance cameras captured the chain of events, starting with a shirtless man who stumbled into the Milo cafe on Amsterdam Avenue around 6 p.m. Tuesday, and walked toward the back. Someone who seemed to be chasing him stops at the door. Shortly after, a group of men entered the store and one of them stabbed him in the neck.

Eventually he was stabbed multiple times. Witnesses reported the presence at the scene of several young people armed with knives.

Dramatic surveillance footage shows workers and a customer trying to fight them off, brandishing chairs and fists as they push a man with a knife out of the store. Two women working in the store jumped on the counter, where a small child was hiding, in an apparent attempt to get help from a neighboring business. Eventually, the workers forced the group to leave the store.

The 39-year-old victim was initially taken to hospital in critical condition, but was later upgraded to stable condition. No immediate update on his status was available Wednesday.

No arrests have been made in this case.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
