4 people arrested and 1 wanted for botched plastic surgery project in South Florida – NBC 6 South Florida

Four people have been arrested and a fifth is wanted after police say cosmetic surgeries performed by unlicensed employees at a South Florida clinic injured several people.

In a news release Tuesday, Port St. Lucie police said their investigation began after receiving complaints in May 2022 that cosmetic surgery procedures were being performed at Cosmetica Plastic Surgery and Anti-Aging by a medical assistant rather than by a licensed surgeon.

Detectives identified four different adult victims who underwent various cosmetic procedures between 2021 and 2022. They included “360° liposuctions”, “Brazilian butt lifts with fat transfer”, “tummy tucks” and “breast augmentations”. » which cost between $6,000. at $22,900.

All four patients suffered various complications, including necrotic skin that spread from the surgical sites, police said.

Some of the surgeries were performed by Adley DaSilva, 51, who was only a physician's assistant, police said.

DaSilva's wife, Kiomy Quintiana, 41, who does not hold a U.S. medical license, performed some procedures such as Botox injections and treated some of the surgical complications related to DaSilva's botched cosmetic operations, said the police.

Dianne Linda Millan, a 52-year-old surgical technician, Fermal Lee Simpson, 74, an anesthesiologist, and a fifth unnamed staff member also participated in the botched surgeries, police said.

Millan, Simpson and Quintana were arrested June 13 on one count of RICO – conducting or participating in an enterprise in racketeering activity. Quintana was also charged with one count of grand theft in a fraudulent scheme, one count of organized fraud and three counts of practicing medicine without a license.

DaSilva was arrested June 14 on one count of RICO, four counts of aggravated battery causing great harm, one count of grand theft in furtherance of a fraud scheme, one count of organized fraud and four counts charged with practicing medicine without a license.

The fifth employee is still at large, police said.

Cosmetica closed in 2023, but police said they were still searching for other possible victims.
