Cherry Hill police said they arrested 38 people accused of a series of retail thefts during a two-day operation last month.

Plainclothes officers were also used to arrest suspected thieves. Detective Robert Daniello said it was everyone's collaboration that made the operation successful.

“When everyone is on the same page and working together, it makes our job even easier,” Daniello said in a statement.

“Public safety is one of my top priorities and I will ensure the department has the resources it needs to continue to adopt innovative approaches to fighting crime and finding solutions to public safety issues,” said Cherry Hill Mayor David Fleisher. “The police department's Retail Theft Initiative is an excellent example of a collaborative approach to tackling a complex problem. »
