37 charges laid in drug trafficking operation

The Calgary Police Service has charged four people in connection with a drug trafficking operation in and around Calgary, resulting in 37 charges.

In February 2024, the District 4 Task Force (DOT) investigated two individuals suspected of being involved in drug trafficking activities.

Between March and May 2024, the suspects are believed to be linked to multiple residences. On Tuesday, May 21, 2024, search warrants were executed in the community of Pantatella and Rocky View County. During the execution of the warrants, the following items were seized:

· eight cell phones

· $10,255 in cash

· 421 grams of cocaine

· 658 grams of methamphetamine

· 1595 grams of fentanyl

· 242 hydromorphone tablets

· 703 percocet tablets

· 497 xanax pills

As a result, four men were arrested and charged.

Syed Ammar Haid JAFARY, 33, of Calgary, is charged with:

· One count of production of fentanyl

· One count of producing cocaine

· Six counts of possession for the purpose of drug trafficking

· One count of proceeds of crime over $5,000

· Three counts of failing to comply with a release order

JAFARY will next appear in court on Monday, June 3, 2024.

Khushmanpreet SINGH, 22, of Calgary, is charged with:

· One count of production of fentanyl

· One count of producing cocaine

· Six counts of possession for the purpose of drug trafficking

SINGH will next appear in court on Friday June 21, 2024.

Anikait KUMAR, 21, of Calgary, is charged with the following charges:

· One count of production of fentanyl

· One count of producing cocaine

· Six counts of possession for the purpose of drug trafficking

· One count of proceeds of crime over $5,000

KUMAR will next appear in court on Friday June 21, 2024.

Gurinder SINGH, 35, of Calgary, is charged with:

· One count of production of fentanyl

· One count of producing cocaine

· Six counts of possession for the purpose of drug trafficking

SINGH will next appear in court on Friday June 21, 2024.
