36-year-old man stabbed at graduation party in Medina, suspect in police custody

MEDINA, Ohio — A Medina man was stabbed Saturday night at a high school graduation party, police say.

The Medina Police Department responded to an altercation at Falling Oaks Pool on Guliford Boulevard around 8 p.m., a news release states.

Partygoers at the pool clubhouse got into an altercation with a man passing by, leading to the stabbing of a 36-year-old man, according to the release. The victim was taken to Medina hospital and there is no information on his condition.

The suspect had fled by the time police intervened.

Officers recovered a knife at the scene, but were unable to immediately locate the suspect, who was later identified as Antonio Watkins, 33, according to the release.

After beginning an investigation into the incident, Watkins was found at a home in Lakewood and taken into custody at the Medina County Jail.

He is currently charged with assault, which is a second-degree felony.

Additional charges may be pending.
