33-year-old Florence man identified as victim of fatal shooting

FLORENCE, SC (WBTW) — A 33-year-old Florence man has been identified as the victim of Wednesday afternoon's deadly shooting on W. Evans Street in Florence.

Lydell Preston Titus died in the shooting that occurred about 2 p.m. in the 700 block of W. Evans Street, Coroner Keith von Lutcken said. An autopsy will be performed this week at the Medical University of South Carolina.

Florence police have charged Dino Piere Scott, 46, with murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a firearm by a felon. He is being held without bail at the Florence County Detention Center.

Police said Scott and Titus got into an argument and Scott then retrieved a handgun and shot Titus multiple times. Scott was arrested at the scene without incident.
