A 30-year-old woman was stabbed multiple times while standing in front of her vehicle at a drive-thru ATM in San Diego on Saturday.

The assault happened around 9:55 a.m. Saturday at 8251 Mira Mesa Blvd. at a shopping center in the Mira Mesa neighborhood, according to San Diego police.

“A suspect approached the victim and punched him in the upper body. The suspect pushed the victim to the ground and delivered two more blows to the upper body,” the department reported.

The victim suffered deep cuts to his neck, left shoulder and chin, and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police described the suspect as a white man between 25 and 35 years old, with a medium build and brown hair. He wore a gray long-sleeved shirt and stretch pants with multi-colored flowers.

The suspect fled after passers-by came to the victim's aid. He made no statements or demands before or during the attack, and no property was seized, police said.

His motive was unclear.

Authorities urged anyone with information leading to the suspect's arrest to call SDPD at 619-531-2000 or 858-484-3154.
