3 people to be sentenced in doomsday plot that claimed Arizona teen

GILBERT, AZ (AZFamily) — Three family members who helped take a Gilbert teenager away from his home as part of a doomsday plot are expected to be sentenced Tuesday.

Spring Thibaudeau, her brother Brook Hale and her daughter Abigail Snarr all took plea deals earlier this month after being charged with custodial interference.

We don't know what their punishment will be.

On October 23, Thibaudeau and Hale took Thibaudeau's 16-year-old son from his East Valley home to live in nature.

The trio believed the teen was a “Davidic servant” who would play an “important role” in the second coming of Jesus Christ.

The group reportedly traveled to Idaho and then to Canada.

Hale is said to have left a will, expecting the end of the world to approach.

The boy's father said in October that Thibaudeau became interested in late-day religious topics in 2015 while the couple attended The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and that she gradually became obsessed with the perpetrators who wrote about the end of the world.

The father compared their beliefs to those of “Doomsday Mom” Lori Vallow.

The victim was found at the Canada-US border in Alaska on October 27.

Since Thibaudeau did not have custody, all three faced charges.
