3 people injured in overnight shooting in Seattle

Seattle police are investigating an overnight shooting in the Yesler Terrace neighborhood that left three people injured early Saturday morning.

According to Seattle police, they were first informed of the shooting around 5 a.m. after nine different people called 911.

SPD says the shootings took place at three different locations near Yesler Terrace Park. One is believed to have taken place at 12th Avenue S and Boren Street, and another took place on the east side of the Yesler Terrace Hillclimb, located near 10th Avenue S and S Jackson Street.

Police say there were multiple shooters and dozens of shell casings were found at the scene. Multiple weapons are believed to have been used, including a rifle and a handgun, and it was difficult to determine the exact location of the shooting due to the power of the gunfire.

Two victims, a man and a woman in their 20s, were transported to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Police said there was also a third victim, but did not provide details on his condition.

Several vehicles were damaged by gunfire and traces of blood were found at the scene, according to SPD.

Despite the arrival of the police a few minutes later, no suspect was arrested. The reason for the shooting is currently unknown.

The SPD Gun Violence Reduction Unit is investigating this incident.
