3 people arrested after man stabbed with machete in Times Square

Three people were taken into custody Thursday in connection with a man who was stabbed with a machete in New York's Times Square.

The man was stabbed in both legs at West 45th Street and Broadway and taken to Bellevue Hospital, police said in a news release.

A search took place earlier Thursday for three men who fled on foot. Authorities said they were canvassing the area for security video.

One person was wearing blue jeans and a black shirt with a school bag during the attack. The second wore a Wu-Tang Clan shirt, and the third wore a gray hooded shirt and blue jeans, police said.

Charges are pending.
