3 people arrested, 1 on the run after dispensary burglary

LAWRENCE, Mich. (WOOD) — Three men have been arrested and one man remains on the run following a burglary early Sunday morning at a Lawrence dispensary.

Around 3:30 a.m., deputies from the Van Buren County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the True Leaf Dispensary, located at 265 Crandall Pkwy, after the owner saw several people inside the building on surveillance cameras. the company.


When deputies arrived, they saw people bringing bags of marijuana and other products into their vehicles. When they saw the deputies, they went back inside. Three people were able to escape through a back door and run into the woods.

The sheriff's office said one person was arrested when they tried to run out of the woods and into their getaway car. Another man was arrested inside the business. A third man was arrested after being found walking north on CR 684. He was previously seen walking on I-94 near CR 681 before fleeing into the woods when he saw deputies . The three men were aged 18 to 23 and lived in the Battle Creek area.

All three men are being held in the Van Buren County Jail on charges of burglary, breaking and entering, theft from a building, possession of burglary tools and resisting and obstructing police.

A fourth man has not been found.
