3 men linked to robberies in at least 5 states arrested after chase with AG deputies – WSB-TV Channel 2

HABSERSHAM COUNTY, Ga. — Habersham County deputies arrested three men accused of stealing money from people in several states.

Investigators were contacted by Dalton police regarding a rental vehicle with three suspects inside linked to previous burglaries in the area.

Using a Flock camera, a Habersham deputy spotted the rental near a Dairy Queen in Clarkesville and the suspects initiated a pursuit.

The pursuit ended in front of a Dunkin Donuts and the three people in the car then fled from officers.

Two of the men then went to the nearby Wilbanks Lumber property, while the third went into the woods.

The two men in the store were found in a pile of wood, while the man who fled into the woods was arrested a short time later.

None of the suspects had a weapon on them at the time of their arrest.

“They're using debit cards, credit cards, fraudulent checks, doing a lot of fraud and other things where they're stealing money from people,” said Habersham County Sheriff's Investigator George Cason. “It’s tied to about five different states, maybe six, all the way down to Texas.”

The sheriff's office did not release the men's names but said they would be booked into the Habersham County Detention Center in Clarkesville.

They all face charges of obstruction and fleeing. Additionally, officials said they stole a debit card from someone and used it.

There may be additional charges.
